Am 25.09.2012 hatten Andreas Wolske, Geschäftsführer der Managdhosting.de GmbH und ich als Gesellschafter von its-people und Inhaber des Skilltower Institute die Ehre, auf dem heise Event “Cloud im Business Einsatz” die Keynote zu geben. Über die Cloud ist schon so viel geschrieben, referiert und Blödsinn verbreitet worden. Daher haben wir überlegt, was erzeugt heute für die Zuhörer noch einen Nutzen?

Wir entschieden uns für den Titel: “Der Cloud Computing Goldrausch im 21. Jahrhundert – wie Sie Bauernfängerei von nachhaltigen Chancen für Ihre Geschäftsentwicklung unterscheiden.”

Neben dem, was die Zuhörer mitgenommen haben, möchte ich auch das mit Ihnen teilen, was wir dabei gelernt haben.

Kernpunkte unseres Vortrags waren:

IT-Strategie früher und heute: Die alten Tugenden bei IT-Projekten sind auch für Cloud Projekte erforderlich: Das schnelle und agile Umsetzen von Marktanforderungen in IT, einen pragmatischen Mittelweg zwischen fehlender und überperfekter Dokumentation und Entwicklungsprozessen in getrennten Umgebungen (Entwicklung, Test, Produktion) und ausreichend Redundanz in Personal und Technologie. Hinzu kommt für die Cloud aufgrund gestiegener Komplexität die Erfordernis weitergehender Professionalisierung und Spezialisierung – im Haus oder outgesourct durch Cloud Dienstleister.

Bauernfänger erkennt man häufig an Pauschalangeboten und im Kleingedruckten. Echte Entwicklungschancen passen sich dem Geschäft an und nicht umgekehrt.

Cloud Erfolgsfaktoren sind zum einen Macht-Symmetrie: kleine Unternehmen arbeiten gut mit kleinen zusammen, große mit großen. Armdrücken mit King Kong hingegen ist selten erfolgversprechend. Zum anderen ist das Kleeblatt für Änderungsprojekte zu beachten: Juristische Faktoren, technologische Faktoren, die Menschen und der Business Case müssen gleichermaßen vernetzt berücksichtigt werden. Gerade bei der Verarbeitung personenbezogener Daten im Cloud Umfeld ist das Hinzuziehen spezialisierter Juristen Pflicht geworden.

Was haben wir bei dem Event gelernt?

Die Vorträge und die Diskussion mit Teilnehmern waren sehr aufschlussreich. Die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse waren:

Der Peak des Cloud Hype ist überschritten (laut Gartner Hype Cycle bewegt sich Cloud Computing deutlich in Richtung des Tals der Desillusionierung).

In der ernüchternden Realität angekommen, kann und muss man jetzt daran gehen, seine Cloud Projekte zu professionalisieren und die tatsächlich vorhandenen Mehrwerte zu heben – auch, wenn es etwas schwerer wird, als in der Champagnerlaune des Hypes vermutet.

Ich bin viel auf Veranstaltungen auch als Referent unterwegs. Dieses Event von heise glänzte durch überdurchschnittliche Qualität. Der Schwerpunkt lag tatsächlich auf dem Vermitteln von Inhalten und nicht auf dem Verkauf der Produkte oder Leistungen der Refenten, wobei das am Rande auch geschah. Es ist also auch 2012 möglich, inhaltlich gute Events zu organisieren – der Name heise hilft sicherlich zum einen. Der Veranstalter arbeitet allerdings auch intensiv daran, diesen Anspruch aufrecht zu erhalten. Mein Fazit an heise Events: weiter so.
